HARELIP(S) is labelled as offensive - surprised Susie didn't notice/mention as she did check it. (It was recently removed from the scrabble lexicon - I had no idea before that - was a common enough term back in the dark ages of the 1980s!)

Plenty of other 8s they could have asked Cillian to offer instead if they hadn't wanted to broadcast it.

NOUN
offensive
Another term for cleft lip

Usage
Use of the word harelip can cause offence and should be avoided; use cleft lip instead

And hence why the “censor everything” argument doesn’t work, in a nutshell.

Harelip is offensive? I thought it was just the name for the thing.

Yeah, I know it was one (of many!) that surprised me when I saw the scrabble list of expurgated words. We live and learn.

Justin Moorhouse seems pleasant. I’d happily welcome him back.
