Another answer to Wordle: aim is to find the longest word using a given shorter word in 5 attempts or fewer.

Not really getting the appeal of this one. There's nothing to clue you towards the answer.

I thknk thatβs part of the challenge - to know and find long words with no guidance. Mind, thereβs nothing to clue you to finding the longest word on
Countdown. Itβs an okay game.

If the primary goal is just to find the longest word, what are the multiple guesses for? It's not like you really build on your previous answers.

Seems to be broken. All my guesses "not in word list"

Works fine for me, and to answer Gavin's question it's more to build a list. You're definitely able to build off of what you have if you have it in the list and give things their go.
For instance,
RED first gave me the thought of
REDISTRIBUTION. Then I thought, "Well what about P
REDISTRIBUTING?" I learned to find out that it wasn't in, but this thought ccan definitely lead you into the right place for the max.

For those who want to play this game more than once per day and who have an Android phone, I made an app!
I made my own twist to the scoring system so there's a focus on using a variety of different letters of the alphabet. It currently has 20 levels and is overall very basic, but I hope a few of you will enjoy it enough to make it worthwhile for me to keep working on it and making improvements.

I said to Heather I'd mention here that she got a 21-letter word yesterday when the "max" (or at least the 100% score) was 17. Called it an extra long unusual word or something like that. Did any nerd here get longer than 21?

Countdown has an opponent you're playing against that. Without that, you're playing against the maximum score only, and if there's nothing to clue you towards that, it seems dry.

there's a 17 out of 15 for today that I can see. still disappointed no one got involved in long words on the THE day.
For what it's worth, I, like Mark, don't really like this game that much.

Big score today. Only really needed to know one word. I quite light this game but expect the novelty will be short-lived for me, like with Wordle.

Meanwhile crosswords have stood the test of time: 100 years, in fact. No word puzzle beats crosswords.

got a 16 today that was easier than the 100% 14!
Also it's disappointing to see the share content only shows 100% even when you beat it - am now wondering how many 100%s above are actually higher.

Nice. Be sure to give the app a try. It's not my finest work, but I am still currently the _only_ result when you search the App Store for wordiply

I'm finding Wordiply quite addictive and I think where is, some scope for an afternoon game show out of it.
Maybe like lingo start with 3 letter sets and come up with longest words, starting with, including and ending with to score points then increase to 4 letter sets with the same formula and maybe a 5 letter set to finish

The problem with word games is they can get repetitive, as thereβs only a finite number of words to know and find, hence why Call My Bluff and Catchword ran their course.

Mind you, call my Bluff lasted many years and just lately daytime games show's have a 2 or 3 series life of late.
