Unlucky, Lewis. But you can still add the finalist’s trophy to go with your teapot if you qualify.

GELATION and LEGATION in R11.
OUTSETS in R13, possibly, but the fact that DC didn't spot it despite declaring OUTSET makes me doubt its validity

OUTSETS is valid on Apterous, however much difference that makes. KATANAS was in round 12.

Also for the 977 Rachel got in the break I did (also in the break) (100×50-25×6)/5+7=977.

We had a similar debate on Apterous a couple of years ago when DC said VULGATE with an S available, which I noted to the producer who replied that they would allow the plural. They seemed to relax the ‘rule’ which banned plurals of [IN SINGULAR] words when the laptop replaced the outdated paper dictionary. DC doesn’t always follow guidelines and doesn’t always make it clear whether or why an available S can be added, and they’ve even in the past been wrong on exclamations with no nounal contexts such ad wilcos x and cheerios x without even checking the dictionary; this is not only unclear and annoying but also misleading. FTR, OUTSETS was added to Apterous in 2017 after a dictionary update. OUTSET is still labelled [IN SINGULAR] today.

Was Round 2 the first time both players have ever declared the same unavailable word?

MINUETTO in R10

Gutted for Lewis to just miss out on octochampdom. Would be nice to see him in the finals hopefully. :)

So far, they have had nostalgia clips to honour Dent and Riley... there had better be a few for Vorderman.

Earlier this series, two players declared mushroom with just one M available.

Genuine question, has Lewis faced the most crucials that anyone has ever faced? I don't think I've seen anyone that's come across what I think may be four or five crucial conundrums.
