(25×5-8)×6-10+7=699 in the first numbers.

Also TORTOISE as a nice alt in round 2.

Also when Colin asked Joseph what he got last time he was on (29) and said 30 would be a victory for him, I think he trumped anything Anne did. I'm out. He's all enthusiastic and everything, which is great, but he has zero tact.

I'm just watching this now to recap, and personally I don't really see it in that form. Felt more of a "hey I got some faith in you that you'll do better this time because the game against Jack must've been a bit of a beatdown."

Maybe I was a bit harsh, but I think in combination with everything else, he does seem to lack tact. Anne was more deliberately harsh and was a worse host generally, but I think Colin could do with some tact lessons. (Like the thing I said about the 7s in the game the other day.)

Well done Joseph, and commiserations Daniel. ADDENDA and JOKESTER were brilliant spots from Daniel.

Brilliant to see Joseph back on the show and getting a well earned teapot. He held his nerve well in such a close game.

Daniel had some lovely spots in that game, and he seemed very well mannered and relaxed for somebody his age. It's a shame only one of the players could win!

Yeah, we've had a few decent players in quick succession - John Aziz, the guy that beat John Aziz, the guy that beat the guy that beat John Aziz, and now th... Joseph Bartram.

So, you didn't particularly rate Daniel then...?

This is weird: I got the second TTT from the clue, but not in the intended way. Rather, it led me to "liar", and then when I looked at the remaining letters the solution fell into place.

No-one will understand this without having to go to the wiki for context. Even on the day would be pushing it, but a month later you're just giving people homework.
