Quinn buzzes on 2.5 seconds to say which is incorrect.
Mike does not buzz.
The answer was TARNISHED.

A great contest all round, Mike lead for most of it until Quinn gradually got the better of him in the final two rounds. First of all I would like offer my congratulations to Quinn on becoming an octochamp and the newest member of the 800 club, he now slots into the No 2 seed position with 846 points. Take nothing away from Mike who was unfortunate to run into Quinn, but gave him a really good run for his money and put up a really good fight.............if Mike came on a different day he could of been in contention for a teapot......... tune into the show as we welcome two new contestants......which of those will be occupying the champions chair ???

In the meantime.......bye for now !!!

Stat Time!

Over his journey, Quinn has gotten:
  • 8 nines (DRAGONETS, PLANETOID, SPEARMINT, BRIMSTONE, UNROASTED, ROUMANITE, MODERATES, MULIERAST)
  • 5 conundrum solves
    • MEZZANINE (1.5s)
    • PROMOTION (2.25s)
    • UNBRANDED (2.25s)
    • CONFUSING (1.5s)
    • CERTAINTY (6.25s)
  • 6 centuries, with a high of 124 and a low of 86
  • 56 out of 120 maxes (6, 8, 9, 6, 4, 11, 5, 7) - 32 from letters, 19 from numbers
  • A percentage of 76.08%, placing him 125th in terms of highest one in an octorun
With a total of 846 points, Quinn puts himself in 59th place on the score leaderboard, right along with Series 52 runner-up Paul Gallen and Series 76 semi-finalist Jeff Clayton. He's a solid player so far, but I think he's gonna need to put in some practice if he wants to strive to Ed's level of play, as there's a gap of 123 points between the two. For now, let's see if we have more finalists on the way... see you then!
