A strange coincidence

I just spent a little time in the audience at Countdown Towers, during one of my regular pilgrimages to Box Pizza (it wasn't much of a detour, the two are parallel; it's an H.) I settled down for the first game of the day and noticed from the nameplate that one of the contestants was called Kirk Bevins! What a coincidence, I thought, that he should have the same name as that nerdy waster who got battered in Series 51! The coincidence only deepened when the contestants were led out and I noticed that, at a squint, the new Kirk looked exactly like his earlier namesake!

It can't have been the same guy though, because he was marginally less crap and didn't even guess TURROTING for the conundrum. Anyway, thought this was an amusing event so I'll share it with you all. The transmission date for this happy coincidence is 2 March.

It's funny you should say that Charlie. Surely you must be mistaken, however, for I spent the whole day today with Kirk. Perhaps all that Box Pizza has gone to your head?

Knew I shouldn't have had that Chef's Special...

Really? This is great news. We could have our next champion of champions winner already (except Damian said they weren't going to do that any more).

I agree. I'm very pleased for Kirk and hope he becomes an Octochamp :)

Wow, great to hear it. Don't worry Kirk, I'm getting my expectations right up!

No pressure from anyone on this forum to win the series or anything.

I would be utterly crestfallen if you lost your first show again, but I'm sure that won't happen.

Surely not?

This is very exciting news.

That's great Kirk, I'm already looking forward to your appearance(s). I hope you didn't bash your opponent(s) up too much!

Ha - just wait till March and all will be revealed. Many thanks to all of you for your votes of confidence - they are very much appreciated.

wow

This is exciting, I wonder if there's a chance I'd be allowed a second shot, probably not cos didn't lose my first game, but I'll give it a few years and see if I can play Damian's heart strings.

I love Jeff Stelling and would love to meet him!

Does this mean there is hope for me as well? I'd love to have another go on the show.

Wow, Kirk! Fantastic! :D :D
I expect Charlie and Junaid are pleased that you weren't in their series. ;)
Shame you weren't on a couple of weeks before when I was in the audience though. :(
Great that you got to go on again. All under 18s ought to get another go when they're adults IMHO.

If that's why Kirk got back he's been quite lucky I think. 17/18 - what's the difference? I doubt he planned it so that he would be 17 and potentially get another chance.

That's the first day of my jury duty - I'll have to make sure I record it.
I'm sure you've done us all proud
