Saudi Arabian futuristic eco-city

Post by Callum Todd »

I have seen an advert for this before but just read more about it on a new BBC article.

More info on official website.

Can't decide what to make of this. The fact it's from the Saudi government instantly turns me against it, but it seems sort of cool and really positive, if totally artificial. Is this the future for humanity? Or just some silly playground for rich criminals?

It sounds really weird. And obviously I have suspicions about the motivations behind it and whether it will actually do any good.

I find it hard to believe in the integrity of a country with such a terrible human rights record and totally concur with the accusation of greenwashing.
