Mike spotted the divisibility by 11 trick in R3: good maths.

Watched yesterday and today's online - dunno if it's edited differently to what's broadcast, but some very odd editing -

1) Referring to Mike's greyhounds as if they'd been discussed yesterday when they hadn't been mentioned
2) Twice C2 not asked for their words (R1 for the challenger and a later round for Mike)

Thought I was the only one that had this problem. I assume for the later round, the only reason I could think of why it was not shown was because Mike had "MORONS". For Round 1, I have no idea what happened...

Apparently two potentially offensive words (retard and morons) were removed - presumably a decision made after filming following the upset a couple of weeks back, so no opportunity to get alternatives in the studio.

Max in R4 was MORONISM, which would probably have been expurgated as well.

Surely nobody considers themself to be a moron, so I don't quite understand who would be offended by the word appearing by chance in a word game.

Speaking as a dreaded Politically Correct Leftie™ myself, cutting MORONS and/or MORONISM from the broadcast was going too far IMO. I've never heard the words used as anything other than harmless trash-talk, not in their old clinical meanings of "person with an IQ below such-and-such".

I agree. They should have been broadcast. Even with their clinical meanings, they're normal, medically descriptive words. They're not just gratuitous insults with no other meaning like POOFTER is.

Do C4 not have a bleep machine any more?

I’m sure they can still bleep if they wanted to, but cutting just saves a few seconds.

Just catching up and noticed this, I assumed the two words were "farted" and "bosom" which I thought would have been going a bit far.....

I see. But in any case what Channel 4 did was excessive and I have to agree with what Peter said
