Viewing Figures: Anne Robinson’s First Episode Watched by 466,000 Viewers

Countdown's first episode with Anne Robinson as host was watched by 466,000 viewers, according to Thinkbox – 339,000 of which watched on launch on 28 June and a further 127,000 on catch-up within 7 days, occupying 12% of the audience share.

Her second episode lost more than 50,000 viewers, entertaining 413,000 including 82,000 watching on catch-up within 7 days, while her next three fell below 379,000 and failed to make Channel 4’s Top 50 most watch broadcasts from 28 June to 4 July.

I imagine a lot - myself included - don't regularly watch every episode, but made a point to tune in for her first one out of curiosity

Countdown has failed to make Channel 4’s Top 50 for the first time since Anne Robinson took over.

Top put into context, Channel 4’s 50th most watched show for 26 July - 1 August, Devon and Cornwall, scored 407,000 viewers… so Countdown didn’t even get above 400,000 including a week of catch-up.

Neighbours on Channel 5 got 789,000 occupying 20.5% of the share at 1:45 pm, 25 minutes before Countdown…

630,000 watched bank holiday Monday episode on 30 August 2021, 506,000 of which watched on its original air time. It occupied 12.7% of the audience share.
