504 thing for R3 numbers - 9*8*7+1 = 505

farside fine in premium Rhys.

NOUN
(usually the far side)
1
The furthest side of something:
we hired bikes to explore the far side of the island
1.1
(also farside)
The side of the moon not visible from earth:
thus far, no mission—crewed or otherwise—has landed on the lunar farside

Yeah, and I don't think hers and Susie's different experiences on there is just an accident.

But on a lighter note, Rachel came dressed as the set today so that's nice.

So Max Boyce's Ballad of Morgan the Moon is a work of fiction? Gutted.

Florence looks to have a reasonable chance of octoing I'd say. Two octochamps in the same family isn't bad. The Capplemans didn't make it but the Cappleman-Lyneses might. If not, we'll be waiting for a triple-barrelled surname.

Yep I agree. Thought she was possibly going to be outdone today at one stage, but her numerical skills have stood her in good stead. However, there is an Apterite on Monday (not sure about the day exactly) who's around the 1400 ranking, so imagine that it may not be as easy as some other octoruns should she win 8.

I was surprised Rachel missed that actually. I think she started with 9*8, but then went off a different (less good) way.

I suspect Rachel's first thought is to factorise. Mine with six small has always been to multiply the largest two together, divide the product into the target, and see where that leaves you.

Well, I also tried to see 101 x 5, which is what Rachel did, so I don't get these complaints.

Not so much complaints, but hers was the clunkier route.

It doesn't matter how you get there, but 9*8*7 is 6s lesson 101
