Lingo
So far so good three teams try to work out four and five letter words using a ladder system and the same principle as the boardgame mastermind (right letter wrong position etc)
Presented by Adil Ray.
Was on at 4pm today (sunday)
You have a conundrum type element too.
Worth checking out

Re: Lingo
Good show. Always liked the US version and surprised it has taken this long to come over here.
What I like about it is the lack of faff. After the initial chat, it's pretty much all "action", which is unusual for a daytime quiz, which are generally 30 minute shows stretched out to last an hour.
I think the host is good too.
The end game is a bit flat though in my opinion. Give them 3 x 6 letter ones to make them earn the money I reckon, or at least when they get one right give them a decision to stick with the money they've won, or to gamble for the next one to win more.

My only critcism is that when you have one letter multiple times then it should indicate this.
Also some answers have more variations than others making an unlevel playing field at times

Re: Lingo
I am waiting for someone to buzz in on the last bonus one in an unwinnable position - hasn't happened yet.
Would be extraordinarily bad sportsmanship given the meagre winnings there are anyway!

Re: Lingo
It really annoys me when he says "the money is worth".
Re: Lingo
I put this on for a few minutes the other day and had to turn it off solely because of the contestants. Stuff like this being fairly typical:
M E A L <- M is in the right place, no other letters
Contestant: MEAN?
M E A N <- M is in the right place, no other letters
Contestant: MEAT?
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

The 29 December 2021 episode, shown at a temporary 5:30 pm time slot, pulled in up to 2.6 million viewers. However, the 3 January 2022 episode will be shown at 3:40 pm, as it’s a Bank Holiday, and from then on until the series ends in February the show will revert back to its regular 3:00 pm slot. Lingo still averages 1 million viewers in its 3:00 pm slot, comfortably beating any afternoon show on Channel 4.
