I’m reading online that today’s episode has been pulled..., is this true?

Coronavirus is a Channel 4 conspiracy so they could take Countdown off the air for a bit and bring it back with Rachel no longer pregnant so it doesn't look like she's pregnant one day and back to work after giving birth the next day.

Surprised by the cancellation myself. Was going to ask James. But if James doesn't know why, then no one knows !!
Was going to check the Apterous (Countdown index page) site but for some reason the page won't load - tablet or computer.
Also was worried, as I had missed Friday's episode, it had not been available to watch on the past programmes section all weekend and Monday.
Happily it is now tho.

... which prompted me to check VM's equivalent - has series 51 and 52! How bizarre!

Maybe the other contestant was whoever runs the server for the wiki.

Something lighthearted was said when we recorded back in November which could be interpreted differently in today’s world. Was a last minute decision erring on the side of sensitivity.

Doesn't really make any sense as they could have just edited it out.

If you read further down, she says it was too late to edit it out apparently, hence it was pulled....

They could put an edited version on All 4. And do they still have that repeat slot at around 5am?

Maybe they can show an edited version sometime in early May when they’ll have run out of new shows to broadcast.

The repeat slot still exists, no idea what was shown.
