I recall Martin telling us previously that "2.9% interest", as opposed to "2.9% APR", means that 2.9% of the original loan amount will be charged per annum throughout the term of the loan. At first I thought this was the catch he was about to tell us about.

But I am made to wonder: Does anybody nowadays actually use the word "interest" with this meaning? If so, who?
