Countdown on YouTube [etc.]

Having recently uploaded two of the more humorous moments from my CD run to YouTube, I searched the forum to see if there was a "Countdown on YouTube / Dailymotion / Vimeo" thread here. Long story short... there is now!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Here are my two to start the ball rolling:-

Short clip from Episode #6678 [S77E064]
(A creative interpretation of the pronunciation of GIAOUR, made into a 'rap' of sorts.)
https://youtu.be/GYxzK9k-nl4

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Short clip from Episode #6682 [S77E068]
(The first six letters of this 8-max selection featured a dodgy word. 4 people in the studio declared 6s, but none went for this one...)

Many people have differing opinions regarding the best game of Countdown of all time...
For me, this is it. No contest:-

Part 2 [https://youtu.be/yJFf5yCmtLQ]
Part 3 [https://youtu.be/zkIQKtCRvr4]

Yes. I'm a bit of a YouTube / video-editing hobbyist.

Wait till you find out who Spike Guthrie, Susan Morton, Sympathetic Jones and Gavin Chipper really are... then you will be truly stunned! :o

Just made another video based on my shows from 3 years ago:-
https://youtu.be/x6UZFNauHSQ
This video contains 30 of my best letters rounds, and the cumulative maximum score is 250pts.
Play along and see how much of the max you can secure...

The 2nd video in my new series on "Countdown tutorials" has just gone online...
Possibly a little more entertaining than the first as it features a full 15R walkthrough.

There are more of these now...

Episode #2.5 - Challenge
Episode #3 - Letters
Episode #4 - Numbers

The numbers one went online 5mins ago, and features input from Apterites Hazel Drury and Dan Byrom, and also a (very) brief homage to Apto creator, Charlie Reams.

Part 2 is going to be good!!!
Will upload it not next Monday, but the Monday after.

I tried to find as much actual TV footage of players doing their thang as possible... but it was very very hard to find. For most contestants there is nowt.
In video 1, some footage of Mark on Catsdown was included, but it got the entire video copyright struck and blocked, so I was forced to trim out that segment for the video to be publicly viewable. :( Thankfully normal Countdown aren't quite as prickish about copyright issues, so those clips are ok to use.

The third part of the "Irish Countdowners" trilogy is online now.
Potential future Octochamps.

I have started work on a directory of "Countdown related content on YouTube"
The embryonic draft of it can be seen here:- https://www.facebook.com/notes/countdow ... 915687483/

Any suggestions of other channels worth adding, received gratefully.

Here ya go!
It is a play-along video, showing my worst TV misses.
101pts available, of which I scored 13 (lucky for some)
Can you do any better?

The best video ever made about the Countdown numbers game has landed.
And -in a shock twist- it has no Apterite involvement whatsoever!
Enjoy!

Yes, it's very good. Some people in our community have done calculations on solvability etc. as well. I might see if I can dig some of that out.

This thread has got some very good stuff. Geezer was talking about number of solutions with different large numbers (Aegilops essentially) and according to this post the "best" 4 numbers are 59, 83, 93, 97 and the "worst" are 12, 16, 18, 24.

Edit - I think Dave Ricesky was actually Sam Cappleman-Lynes by the way. I don't know why people don't stick to their real names.
