After starting a topic on the Wii, I am staring a topic on the XBOX 360, as I plan to own one after Christmas and am I wondering if there is anyone here who owns an XBOX 360?

Kai's quite right, don't get a PS3. ;)

I totally agree, Ben.

In all seriousness though, yes I do own a 360, have done since launch and not regretted it. Xbox Live Arcade is vastly superior to Playstation Network and WiiWare/Virtual Console in terms of the quantity and quality of downloadable games, and now they're started adding Xbox Community games too (JB, ever own a PS1? Ever get the free demo discs with the official magazine? Remember the homemade games from those discs? that.) it's just getting better and better. If you want me to do a top 10 game list, let me know. :)

I remember those demo discs for the PS1, it's how I originally came across Kurushi and Kula Word, two of the best puzzlers ever :D.

I've been looking at the games for the XBOX 360 and like the look of the following (most of which I know are available for the PS3 too):

Burnout Paradise
Dead Rising
Fuzion Frenzy 2
Grand Theft Auto IV
Midnight Club 3
Midtown Madness 3

What would your top 10 game list be Ben?

GTA IV is complete ownage (on PS3 anyway).

After Countdown, of course.
I'm not even going to go into how Kai got his hands on an 18-rated game but it's miles better on 360 than on PS3, AND has exclusive downloadable content coming next year.

As for my top ten games...

Fallout 3
Oblivion
Rock Band 2
Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts
Crackdown
Orange Box
Bioshock
PGR4
GTA4 (overrated IMO, nowhere near as good as san andreas)
Call of Duty 5

Out of that list, I would probably only buy GTA4 :D.

Given you have the universally dreadful Fuzion Frenzy 2 on your list, I'll keep away from the recommendations in future then. :p

As an all round entertainment unit, the PS3 is probably better. In terms of pure gaming, however, Xbox 360 leads the way.

One game alone ends the debate: GEARS OF WAR 2 !!!! Simply astonishing.

Don't do that, I appreciate the recommendations :).

I put down Fuzion Frenzy 2 because I got Fuzion Frenzy originally for the Xbox and I quite enjoyed it. I have had a look at FF2 on YouTube and it doesn't look too bad, but going by my list there is games there I would definitely buy before it (actually it would probably be the last game in my list that I would buy, if I did buy it).

If I was to buy them all, my order would probably be:

Burnout Paradise
Midtown Madness 3
Dead Rising
Midnight Club 3
Grand Theft Auto IV
Fuzion Frenzy

I saw Marble Blast Ultra on YouTube and I would definitely get that. Its look's like quite an addictive puzzler. Also out of your list I would also download Pac-Man CE and possibly Sonic 2. Not sure about the others and I would never download SWoS :P.

Looking at the list on the Xbox site, I would add to the above:

Mr Driller Online
Paperboy
Portal: Still Alive
Texas Hold 'Em
Uno

There's someone on YouTube called Zach aka funny1allways and he does a playthough of Portal and it's just so funny.

Another game that looks good is Mirror's Edge and I would also probably get Sonic Unleashed as it's different to the Wii version.

Mirror's Edge is definitely a good game, albeit short and the combat is hideous- fortunately, it only plays a small part of the game, and there are usually clever ways of avoiding it. Sonic Unleashed... well, it's certainly better than the abortion that was the first Sonic game on the 360, but it's no Sonic Adventure (can't believe that game's 10 years old).

Yeah, we have a 360, our gamertage is thejusticeleg (does no-one else have one? :(). I mostly play Halo 3 (the multiplayer is <3 for me because it's bright and easy to see). CF likes gears of war 2/GTA IV at the moment, although we have a bunch of other games. I've just completed MegaMan 9, which is a bit mental (I say completed, haven't got all the challenges/achievements yet). Don't really know why you'd bother with a PS3 over a 360, unless you want the blu-ray player, I suppose (obviously there's thing you'd want it for, like LBP and MGS, but that's not enough for me).

But yeah, gamertags, people?

I've noticed that Portal is a short game as well, which is quite disappointing. I have also been able to see a walkthorugh of Sonic Adventure online (thanks to funny1allways) and I can't say I am impressed by the game. I think Unleashed would be better than Adventure (but then I thought Fuzion Frenzy was a good game too ).

Do you have any game recommendations Michael? So far my list would include:

Burnout Paradise
Crazy Taxi 3
Dead Rising
Grand Theft Auto IV
Marble Blast Ultra
Midnight Club 3
Midtown Madness 3
Mr Driller Online
Pac-Man CE
Paperboy
Portal: Still Alive
Sonic Unleashed
Texas Hold 'Em
Uno

When we're not drunk I'll get CF to give me some advice to give to you. For now I'd say that Uno is crap, and Sonic Unleashed looks pretty awful. Dead Rising is superb, though.

Also Crazy Taxi 3 won't actually play on a 360. Ignore what Racoon Boy says about Uno though, it's quick and harmless fun online, especially if you have an xbox webcam. Slightly less fun when people start flashing their balls at you though.

Damn, I thought Crazy Taxi 3 would've been playable. Oh well, there are still some good racing games for the 360 :D.

I saw a video on YouTube where this guy had set up his webcam so it was pointed at his computer. They then YouTubed a video of a woman doing a strip tease and then played that during the Uno game

Yeah, I suppose someone flashing their football collection at the screen, could ruin the game :P
