More likely that PORNIER was found by DC in that round and that's why they were cut.

I was hoping for GAMBITTED in the last letters round, but the verb isn't in the OED, though Chambers does have it.

For the 841 numbers game, I actually solved this in the audience and went to Rachel after they had finished recording with my solution. We went and found the numbers paper used for that round and I was allowed to write up my solution to it on that very paper with that very pen. She even wrote me a message on it: 'Dear Elliott, fabulous solution - the only way! Lots of love, Rachel (signature of Rachel) x' and it is proudly mounted and hung on my wall Also got some photos standing with her beside the numbers board!

I can also confirm that PORNIER was indeed found by DC, but Gyles got a bit excited over it and that's why it has been edited out.

I thought I glimpsed something similar yesterday, but definitely today. Halfway through the last numbers game a hand, presumably Rachel's, appears from the bottom of the screen, and touches the 50. Odd.

Noticed the hand too, and yesterday. Was going to say it was good of Rachel for once to be seen to refer back to the numbers game she was left with. Not seen that before, even though she didn't actually have homework after all! Are we going to see the solution?

The 841 solution is ((100-10)*(50-3)-25)/5. There's been quite a lot of bad editing in terms of hands appearing lol.

It's not too amazing when you look at the method used. I eliminated getting close and adding/subtracting and just tried to get there by going above and dividing down. So I was aiming for 4205 with a 5 left over to divide it by, and spotted that method.
