Pat Longeran is halfway to octochampdom with 4 wins. Can he get a fifth win today?

Join Tracey for the recap later.

I wonder if Judy has any of the missing game records in her diaries?

Ironically I think the only beater around today was in the LONGEST+ER round.

I missed what was said in her introduction. All I heard was something about beating both contestants. What was said?

I don't remember "beating", just that she kept score each day against both contestants.

I wonder how many conundrums were cut out today?

Two really good players in a close, high quality game. The phrase "it's a shame these two met each other in the heats" is normally only used on here to apply to apterous players, but it's just as true today.

Interestingly, Judy was on the show 10 years ago, losing to a certain Conor Travers......

When it went to a conundrum, I thought Pat would definitely win then, so quite a shock win!!!

GELATION in round 1 and LISSOME in round 7.

I think four wins was a solid number of wins for a solid player like Pat so I think it would have been more of a shame if the challenger had lost. Plus it keeps Rhys up in the seedings - or maybe that was your point?

No.
