With Michael MacDonald-Cooper completing his impressive eight game run last Thursday, two new contestants took to the stage on Friday. Largely thanks to some good numbers games, it was Rachel who took the win, 94 points to 75, so returns today to face a new challenger. It's the first time this series that two ladies have faced one another, and also the first time that at least one contestant hasn't been from Scotland. Interesting stuff, eh? OK, maybe not. Anyway:

A very slow start from Rachel saw her score no points until round 5 and although she had a brief mid-game comeback, Marjorie responded again with PIXIES and got the final numbers game to put the contest well beyond reach.

Marjorie was pretty solid, but a bit inconsistent on the letters; as we know, a certain Mr. D. O'Donnell (no, not the soporific singer of poor quality MOR music) is set to make his glorious debut this coming Thursday, which suggests that the maximum amount of games that Marjorie can win is three.
