I did look ODO earlier Mark and it is valid for Anerican dictionary which is probsbly would allow cos they don't allow American spelling but I don't exactly know CD rules

Yeah, US spelling rules it out, I'm afraid, I think CJ De Mooi had it before it was taken out of the British version.

Well played Antoinette and was good to see David back too. Don't think Antoinette was up to her usual standard, but hopefully she is just saving it for the Semis (or maybe even FINALS)

Yeah, US spelling rules it out, I'm afraid, I think CJ De Mooi had it before it was taken out of the British version.

It's not a US spelling. It's only in the US English dictionary, and it's that that rules it out. Read down from here in the Apterous ticket, but basically "Bacteroid etc - for some reason the search engine takes you to the US entry, not sure why, but these are not valid on Countdown."

I came into this thread wondering if MUNCHIE was allowed so the posts above cleared that up nicely. Thanks very much!
