Firstly, I would like to offer my congratulations to Charlie Reams on becoming the latest Octochamp; the last game was a bit close though.
Going back to my Semi-Final in 1991, there was one round which I particularly remember; it was a letters round; my opponent (David ?) offered a 6-letter word and all I had was a very dubious 6. For all I knew, it could have been a brand name for contraceptives. I still don't know where I had come across it, but I had to offer it, to level the round. David's word was ZODIAC and my offering was DACOIT. Of course, now, the word comes up quite regularly, but as far as I know, I was the first to offer the word (although if I am mistaken,I'm sure someone will correct me). It was crucial because I only won the match by 4 points.
