So, we're back after a week off :!: :!: ;) :) :D  8-) :geek: :ugeek:

And not a moment too soon, as we can now find out how our new champion will be getting on.

She is of course, Ruth Erwin, who after a shaky start last week, managed to sneak past Joe Hammill to become our new champion. Will she still be around by the end of the day, however............ :?: :?:

Tim Vine continues in DC until Thursday, before Maureen Lipman takes over on Friday to begin her 2nd run.

Andy will be in the recappers' chair later on. ;) :) :D  8-)

Ruth was certainly unlucky there with GROPIEST being wrong but GRAPIEST being there (along with PORTAGES).
Also at least 4 9s in the TARTINESS and RATTINESS round (contestants should learn their RETAINS+ stems).

Why does Susie always say "Only one 6" when there are 2? (DEPUTY alt to POUTER)

Possibly because she's only spotted one of them. I assume that she means that she's only spotted one. I can't imagine that someone with her experience would assume that there aren't any more.

FOLIAR in round 10 and GRAPIEST/PASTORIE in round 11.

3rd Numbers Alt.: (75 x 8) + (50 / 2) + 5 = 630
4th Numbers Alt.: ((75 + 50 - 8 - 6) x 7) - 4 = 773

Anyone else notice the crap edit between rounds 12 and 13, when Matt got given the 6 points for smeers, then was just given 1 point for ALIGNED to make it up :?: :?:

Alt 630: ((75 + (5-1)) x 8) - 2.
Yup, noticed the score difference was the same as the previous round [18] but then at some point he went back to 46 I thought.

You're right about that.
I hope the grandson Matt could have done better than his namesake!
