I know I'm a bit late to the party, but finally, a max game, albeit a 9 rounder. That perfect 15 rounder still proves elusive, and I fear always will be.

No, I had a different answer and only realised it was CONVERTED when I had run out of time.

My first ever max 15-rounder.

Chris let you have that, there's no way he'd ordinarily take more than 7.5 seconds to spot DESISTING.

Still, well done, don't let that diminish your achievement.

You do realise the conundrum in our game (this one) was crucial, right? This one wasn't - I was 18 points behind.

I know he did, which was very gracious but unwanted. I had no choice but to buzz in once i saw it though, i can't really help it if the other player decides to pull out of the battle. I'll be bearing it all in mind if and when Chris makes the QF's of Series 61. Can have lots of fun with the conundrums at my end

Don't worry Kirk, there's plenty more where the last lot came from, including some real crackers in terms of shuffles and answers.

I liked AMSPECIAL because it was dedicated to your abilities. No coincidence. Little things like that are my plaything.

The guys in Series 61 will find that the bar, thanks to Apterous training, has been raised considerably and the 10 pts in Round 15 will no longer be something they can pin their hopes on. Evil cackles all round.

Your record of 175 should really now be mine, but CONCIERGES was disallowed even though its a legitimate word.

Would also have had 17 maxes out of 20, which will take some beating.

Over to you mate

It's rather fitting that at the time I was talking to Charlie on msn about Blind not being on the high scores list because it's cheatable, and then I did that.

Just a thought - is 143 the highest ever losing score of any Countdown (standard 15) game ever played?? First time anyone has lost with 4 niners?

Not much of a claim to fame but I've not much hope of matching the other records on here!

This is probabably as close as I'll ever get to a max game:http://www.apterous.org/findgame.php?us ... opmaxes=12

Not as good statistically as either Aaron's or Liam's (only 9 maxes - 10 if you include the conundrum, but Andrew beat me to it) but it included some really nice spots :)
