Has he not got forum? I was only going to mention on apterous if we were desperate for entrants, as I have seen how hard it is to organise games with people who aren't forum-keen.
That'll teach me to be proactive :D I imagine quite a lot of your entrants so far were alerted by the notice on the front page.

Haha, sorry, wasn't complaining! FWIW I really enjoy playing Dan, so he's a great addition - I've had a word with him on apterous just now and he said he'll sign up to the forum to help with organising, so perfection.

Wow, now that's what I call world cup fever.
Wish I had a vuvuzela, if only to wake up Chris Davies and Dale Levell in time, so they can to enter the AWC before it's too late.

I love that I'm on the list despite not yet entering. But NOW I ENTER. It's like you read my mind man!

Think you must be mistaken. Updated the list after you posted that. Are you accusing me of favouritism or something?

If any place is left then I'll take part. If not, doesn't matter.

All done. 32 in.

That filled up very quickly. Some notable omissions. But think it will just make the tournament stronger and more fun for it. Maybe.

Anyone else who registers interest can be a back up, but of course because of the top-to-bottom matching of apterous rankings against FIFA rankings, I am hoping that the 32 that have signed up are solid confirmations.

In terms of the format, I would have something without conundrums, apart from as penalties.

You're the first backup Ian. Sorry you missed it :(
Only chance really is if Kirk gets in contact with me and says he doesn't want in. Or was I being a knob by giving him a place that you could argue is rightfully yours? Might (not) start a poll...

Tbh I think it's arguable, but then again I might just be saying that because I think I stand a better chance of beating Ian than Kirk.

(sorry Ian)

Also, does anyone else find the full stop on the end of this topic title really distracting?

Ah shit missed it again, just like with the COMA. Even saw it on the first day too! Bloody works events.

Good luck to all and put my name down as back up should I be needed.

Thanks for putting me in. I've been away for 6 days so haven't noticed this. I'm well up for this though.

Battle of The Falklands this:

(Just a friendly)
http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?ke ... 4264723886

Great start from both teams as our SHOOTERS were on target from the whistle, but after two TICKINGs we had to be careful and ROO(sted) missed an easy opportunity to take a lead. A lovely strike from Argentina gave them the lead, and England would have LOWVELD (levelled) had it not been for an Argentinian VOLLEY. Two easy opportunities sealed the game for the South Americans, but had Lampard not been distracted by Capello's uncanny resemblance to Postman Pat and the vuvuzelas in the stadium (Chat nines) the result could have been otherwise.

That would be good, but aren't there only 12 teams, which would mean only 12 players. :?

That is true.

How about an apterous Darts calendar?

Jan-Feb - Worlds (Apterous Masters)
March-April - Premier League Apterous
June - Apterous Open (Random draw)
August - Grand Prix
October - Floor event
November - Apterous World Cup

This I like, particularly the PLA where the top 8 get to play each other every week. Would be class.

You'll definitely like an idea I had for a tourney later in the year then...
