What a crap argument. Do you use words such as GUAIAC, CAMOGIE and GIAOURS on a regular basis too? If you do, I apologise.
I actually do use ZEROISE on a regular basis too. Well, maybe not that regular, but I certainly used to when programming in COBOL.

For what it's worth, I think one should only be allowed to play words whose definition one knows. That would mean the competition is more about vocabulary than who is the biggest word-absorbing robot.
Yes, I for one welcome our new word-and-definition-absorbing robot overlords.
Well done to Damian for winning.

Countdown in Bolton?
Edit: Yesterday's challenger should be encouraged to organise a tournament in her home town of Coalville. I'd turn up for COCOA like a shot.

For the record, "zeroise" means to reset a counter (or a vector, I think) to zero. I used it all the time in my maths degree.

Better still, Jim would've had to type out all the definitions, and everyone knows making more work for Jim is fun.
Also this is the worst idea ever.

I know! Let's put that assertion to the test by having a "worst idea ever" poll, in which people can discuss their least favourite footballers.
