Surely when the league starts, such is the format, all the fixtures have to be arranged. It makes total sense to me that you have to be in at the start to be able to join the head-to-head league at all.

Whoa, did surprisingly well for a season starter, I usually end up with 20 or so points for the first while. I watched Match Of The Day in Spain, and the United and Liverpool games in the bars, hoping for clean sheets. Was pleased Milner scored, although I don't know if he'll start this Saturday!

Edward is having a brilliant gameweek so far, with 81 points and Evra still to play, as well as bonus points! Surely he'll exceed 100 points. He'll be going from 17th to near the top.

I'm hoping Berba has a quiet day tomorrow, as Paul Gallen is in danger of getting away. He does have a quite nice team.

Yup, I couldn't believe how I he could afford all those big players. I've also slipped to 6th, but have 4 players to play, here's hoping the two Manchester clubs do well.

A lot of goals so far for my team from the 2 gameweeks. If I can just get my substitute priorities right I'll be right up there with Gallen.

This stats page is interesting. Wigan's players have had 28 appearances (11 starters and 3 subs twice) and have amassed only 23 points between them!

Hmmm, I think Richard Brittain has changed his name to Jason Larsen and team name to Larsen. "Jason's" team is the same as Richard's (who has left the league).

Jason, (the real one) have you joined Barclay's Fantasy Football?

I've gone and used my wildcard despite being in 2nd place because some of my players had yellow 'i's, which creeped me out a bit. I thought if I'm going to make 2 changes I may as well make half a dozen and use my wildcard. I'll probably sink without a trace now.

So did I, and I felt like much less of a pleb when I read this, even if I didn't have quite as good a week as you did. I reckoned it's just important to start with a half decent team and there were a few silly choices in mine. Last year i tended to spend points on subs a lot and rather than get into that trend this time around, and with the second wild card, i figured it was worth the sacrifice. I'm happy(ish) with the team I've got now.

Gotta say, it's brilliant that so many people have joined this season.

My last minute to decision to replace Diaby with the cheaper (!) Walcott paid dividends, with Malouda, Drogba and Carroll all getting on the scoresheet for me.

Glen Johnson's latest hairstyle (if you can call simply letting French braids grow out a 'hairstyle') makes him look exactly like Eddy Gordo from Tekken.

At least AFC Wimbledon are top of the league. Now, like last year, I have to rely on a mid-season surge, which may get me to the middle of this high quality league. At the top, I reckon 'Sport Betting Analyst' Nick Wainwright has got a good chance.

Is anyone taking a game in at the weekend?

I'll be at the big clash of the day - New Mills v Harrogate Town - FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round. I'll get there early just in case it's a sell out.

I'm actually quite looking forward to it as it's a new ground for me, as was Altrincham tonight as they registered their first win of the season at home to Barrow, 2-0.

Fraid not, Martyn. The Mighty Terriers are at the County Ground on Saturday to play Swindon Town.

Although once my sickness has cleared up (I'm actually off work today, have only been up for about an hour or so.), I'll hopefully be seeing Town at Spotland on Tuesday to see them play Rochdale. :D

So, the first Liverpool goal today, whether or not the free kick was taken, when Torres passed to Kuyt, was Kuyt not offside? I'm assuming not as no one has mentioned it, but where's my understanding of the rule gone wrong? Kirk... can you help?

Surely the reason is that Kuyt was behind the ball when Torres passed to him.
