Spoilers for Monday October 18th 2010

Can't cheer for Jack today cos there's a Cork man in the challenger's chair. His son plays for Blackpool, which is nice! Up Cork!

Something tells me you might have to put a cork in it by the end of the show, though.

I reckon you're right, but fair play, looks like he might at least keep Jack on his toes. That was great from Alistair McGowan.

Fair play Jack, you seriously turned the screw there in that middle section.

Excellent stuff, Jack, and some real class shown to praise the opponent. 8-)

Jack, did Jeff forget to start the clock on the conundrum?

Yep, great game, well done, awesome stuff to run away with it so comfortably after being level at the first break. Charlie looked like he really appreciated that compliment and he was pretty funny when he got CRUSHED earlier on. Brilliant game to start the week ending with a Cork man chuckling heartily as Alistair McGowan talked about langers in a silly Irish accent! Perfect!

Forgot to mention the scramble for the conundrum which was also a nice little touch in a great show!

Well done again Jack, that compliment you gave Charlie was fantastic, you are such a humble and funny guy as well as being so brilliant. I really hope you beat 930. Keep it up.

Also, Charlie was very good and against different opposition could easily have won a few.

I thought this too and was pleasing to see Charlie appreciate the comment, however, I'm always wary of doing something like that as some people will find you patronising, either by slagging off the previous 3 challengers calling them shit or by saying "you're easily the best opponent I've played and look - i've just beat you by 80 points! That's how good I am". Obviously I don't think it comes across like that but there's always some! (e.g. people saying how patronising Phil Taylor is when he clearly isn't and can't say anything without people analysing it and twisting it to make him look bad).

I've just noticed the S in the conundrum is upside down.

Looking back on it on 4oD though, it mysteriously righted itself by the time they revealed the answer. :-)

Objectively you can't do better than a maximum in every round, so objectively this wasn't the greatest performance ever. But the obscurity of some of the words made this something special for me. Possibly the biggest hammering I've ever had sitting at home if you want a subjective assessment.

Seriously, Jack's INDICTEES I thought was brilliant - not only a rare technical word, but with a silent C. An astounding display overall.

I think if I had took those two riskes, me and Charlie might have maxed the game between us. Still happy with my tactics of playing it safe at this point though.

Charlie's daughter is a singer and has opened for Michael Bolton on tour n shit! http://www.jenniferclarkeofficial.com/ . I don't know her myself but know of her and know a few people who know her well. Her music is pretty naff, but now I know her dad's been on countdown i've got total respect.

Brilliant game once again, Jack.

Looking forward to the next four games now - assuming, of course, that you get four more. :)

Ah, at last time to catch up. A phenomenal performance, Jack, especially after being 8-0 down after R1.

Very late alt. to 2nd numbers game: (((100 / 25) x 7) + 1) x 9 = 261

Bet the challenger was rubbing his hands thinking "dunno what the fuss is all about" :P
