I noticed this yesterday when I flicked over to check the answers and saw the conundrum - got it, and realised it wasn't in the book. I've told Stewart about a max of 7 in one round back in Feb I think where it's non-ODE.

New content every year, although some conundrum answers have probably been unintentionally repeated by now with different arrangements.

Re SUPERCEDE, as pointed out earlier in the thread, both spellings are valid - the inclusion this year was because I knew you lot would notice!

There are a few 'Easter egg' inclusions on different dates of note every year. Personalised ones will be included upon request and receipt of a suitably large cheque

Genuinely didn't notice this mainly because like you say the numbers are so piss easy. Conundrums have been quite tricky of late I thought. It took me until about 3pm today to spot today's one and I had to give up on the HARDYTOIL one

I got HARDYTOIL at the time, but just now it took me >30 seconds to remember what the answer was. Seems my memory is worse than my anagram solving ability.

And I thought CARPHOTOS might be OCTOSHARP, but it was late evening before I realised the real answer.

I think I know the intended solution for HARDYTOIL (THYROIDAL*), but there's no anagram for it in Lexplorer, so you might be wasting your time trying to think of it.

I got that, but wasn't 100% on it. I guess that was why. I got CRAPSHOOT fairly quickly too, but only after toying with SOPHOCRAT for a few seconds

Saturday's puzzle was: 374 from 100,10,25,2,10,6 (which is a pretty good one, so have a go before reading on)

Answer given as 25+2x10+100+(10-6). I could almost excuse the erroneous L-R style of expression had it been consistently applied, but why the brackets at the end?

WTF is this shit?

01/01/2013 - exactly the same numbers game as 20/12/2012.
02/01/2013 - exactly the same letters game as 21/12/2012.
03/01/2013 - exactly the same letters game as 22/12/2012.

I just had a sneaky peek ahead to check, and 04/01/2013 is exactly the same numbers game as 23/12/2012.

When I say exactly the same, I mean EXACTLY btw. Same order.

I probably wouldn't notice duplication ordinarily, but within a few weeks? Come on, this is shockingly poor.
