Favourite autistic sauvant
Following the Jeremy Vine show today featuring the bloke who knows Pi to 22,000 places I got thinking about my favourite autstic sauvant. So here's a poll
'This one goes up to eleven'
Fool's top.

That's an appropriate question for me!
I would say Bill Gates, and something tells me he would love to have dinner with Rachel Riley!

Never heard of him, but for me it has to be 'the bloke who says "it is a Wednesday"'.

I was thinking of his hacking skill as evidence of savantism.Ian Volante wrote:Bit of a difference between Asperger's and savantism!Peter Mabey wrote:I'll nominate Gary McKinnon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_McKinnon
I wondered whether Einstein would be mentioned, but the evidence for his autism is really much too weak.

He isn't a skilled hacker by any stretch of the imagination, he just went looking for empty passwords, and happened to be in the right place at the right time.Peter Mabey wrote:I was thinking of his hacking skill as evidence of savantism.

Why?
I remember seeing him doing an awesome Shylock to Geraldine James's Portia at the Phoenix nearly 20 years ago (gosh...). Besides, while I realise that The Graduate, Kramer vs. Kramer, Rain Man, Tootsie, Midnight Cowboy, Straw Dogs, Papillon, Sleepers, Meet the Fockers, Hook (there's loads more but heck...) aren't always to everyone's taste (because some people are wrong - NB not Hook ), he's been in The Simpsons!

Re: Favourite autistic sauvant
Kim Peek died of a heart attack and Bill Gates is just as smart as he was.
If you eat too many hamburgers, you just might die of a heart attack!
