C2: STOP (4)

LOGIEST comes from LOGY, meaning dull, sluggish or lacking vitality.

Round 2: W E S R A S T O B

C1: BOASTERS (8)

Score: 15–0 (max 15)

Round 3: N V O N I O J T R

C1: NOTION (6)
C2: ONION (5)
OT: INTRON (6)
Score: 21–0 (max 21)

Round 4: N C E T R I S G A

C1: RECASTING (18)
C2: REACTING (8)
Score: 39–0 (max 39)

2 darrens in 3 rounds given Oliver a massive lead, whereas Troy is still on the side waiting to enter the game.

Round 5: 100, 6, 8, 10, 4, 7. Target: 772.

C1: 772. ((100 + 10) x 7) + 8 - 6 (10)
C2: 772. (100 x 8) - (7 x 6) + (10 + 4) (10)
Score: 49–10 (max 49)

For a second, it seemed that Troy was going to flop the numbers, but his rather unconventional way of getting to 772 does get him on the scoreboard at last, although Oliver maintains his max score.

Brian tells of the time he went to the Stormbreaker premiere, where his son was amazed to meet... Richard Madeley.

Teatime teaser: HIRESLED -> RELISHED

Round 6: R N Y I O C X A P

C1: APRON (5)
C2: CRAYON (6)
OT: ANOXIC (6) CANOPY (6) OPANCI (6) PICARO (6) PIRACY (6)
Score: 49–16 (max 55)

Oh dear, amazingly Oliver missed one of the 6 6's and Troy is amazingly back in the game :!:

A PICARO is a rogue or a vagabond.

Round 7: N F M I O E D G L

C1: FOLDING (7)
C2: FILMED (6)
OT: DEMOING (7) FINGLED (7) MELDING (7) MINGLED (7)

But, not for long, as Oliver goes further ahead.

DC: SNARLIER (8) RALLIERS (8)
Score: 63–16 (max 70)

Round 10: 10, 8, 1, 6, 9, 10. Target: 341.

C1: 344. ((9 x 6) - 10 - 1) x 8 (7)
C2: -
RR: 341. (((8 x 6) - 10) x 9) - 1 (10)
Score: 76–22 (max 86)

Troy's plan to try and derail Oliver with 6 small fails, as Oliver stretches his lead over 50 points.

Teatime teaser: HIDSPRAY -> SHIPYARD

C1: HAZIEST (7)
C2: CHEATS (6)
DC: AITCHES (7) ACHIEST (7)

Round 12: D L U E S D O D R

C1: DODDLES (7)
C2: RULES (5)
DC: DODDERS (7)
OT: RUDDLES (7)

RUDDLES comes from RUDDLE, a red variety of ocher, used to mark sheep.

Round 13: K T A I S T A Q L

C1: TAILS (5)
C2: kalitas
DC: ATLAS (5) STALK (5)
OT: KIAATS (6) TALIKS (6) TILAKS (6)
Score: 95–22 (max 106)

Troy's last-ditch 7 just shows how one-sided this game has been.

TILAKS are distinctive spot of colored powder or paste worn on the forehead by Hindu men and women as a religious symbol.

Round 14: 25, 75, 100, 50, 6, 3. Target: 623.

C1: 623. ((100 + 3) x 6) + ((75 + 50) / 25) (10)
C2: 622.
Score: 105–22 (max 116)

Oliver reaches his century in fine style with that brilliant solution to the 4 large selection.

Round 15: F I R S T D O W N

C1 buzzes on 26 seconds to say WINDFROST which is incorrect.
C2 does not buzz.
The answer was SNOWDRIFT.
Score: 105–22 (max 126)

Even that guess on the conundrum won't spoil Oliver's day today. He exorcised all his nerves from yesterday's show and steamrolled his way to victory.

Join me tomorrow and see if Oliver can reach 3 wins.

Till then, bye for now.

I'm sure a few of us were transfixed by 'CAPRON' in round 6, but is it just me who spotted VORONIN in round 3?

Is GOLDMINE not an acceptable word here? I thought it was one word - it certainly was in the film "Velvet Goldmine" :D

Alas not. And for future reference you can use the handy tool here to check words you're not sure about (although if they're not mentioned in the recap, they're almost certainly invalid).
