Songs for the Series 61 Finalists

Post by Douglas Wilson »

Following this sucessful topic in series 60: http://www.c4countdown.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2272, lets do the same again!

I will post my contributions later, struggling for inspiration at the moment and want to watch the World Cup draw!

Maybe someone could adapt the lyrics of Bette Davis eyes to fit Chris Davies.

Not quite what you were after Douggie but we could have a CD of songs for the finalists:

For Hulme The Bell Tolls - The Bee Gees
London's Burgin - The Clash
Wood I Lie to You - Eurythmics
Baker Street - Gerry Rafferty
What Shall We Do With The Drunken Taylor? (trad.)
My Selway - Frank Sinatra
Car's On A Hill - Joni Mitchell
Davies Train Blues - Davy Graham

Andrew: Warwick's number one, Warwick's Warwick's number one! (a friendly dig at Neil Zussman)
930! 930! (a friendly dig at Kirk)

Chris: Has to be an adaption of my long haired lover from Liverpool.

Ryan: (to the tune of the childrens' song do da do da de)

His name is Ryan Taylor do da do da
He doesn't play for Newcastle do da do da
He's not related to Julie do da do da
But Countdown is his game

do da do da de x 4

Brian: must be a song with sail away as the prominent lyric that we could change to sel-way

Jeff:
Jeff Burgin woo
Jeff Burgin woo
Countdown is his game
But Stelling can't prononce his name (reference to JS's alternating between hard and soft r in Burgin)

Jackie (to the tune of 'you are my sunshine, can see Matthew Green coming up with a ruder version)

You are the Baker
Our Jackie Baker
They want to hug you
And kiss you too
Because you're the only women standing
So don't take our Jackie away

Can't think of anything for Innis or Steve yet.

Is this meant to be "Camptown Races"?

Nothing camp about our Ryan though . . .

Ummmmm . . . Sail Away by Enya?

What tune is this one?

Derek the tune to the Jeff song starts on about 22 seconds.

Keep them coming the rest of you!
