Indeed. I've never heard of it, less used it in a conundrum alphabet.

Here is another one of my conundrum alphabets. My apologies if these conundrums have either; been repeated in this forum, shown on TV or are too easy (although I think this alphabet is more difficult than the previous one I made) After a lot of stick from some unruly forumites, I have decided to give conundrums that are accepted by CountMax only and none from my own dictionary - which is unreliable

Enjoy and no cheats please :D

1. DINEGOLLY
2. GOONYRULE
3. OKIMGRASS
4. INTICEADI
5. SOYAGUNGE
6. IWATCHTOE
7. FAMEBORIS
8. RUINDREAM
9. ARAMTHEFT
10. RIDEHARRY
11. DOLEMOVER
12. VIKCLOSET
13. SUEFORGED
14. DARTQUEER
15. SWEATINNS
16. COILNODDY

18. TOADVOTER
19. RANDYBEST
20. REETGOONS
21. BOOMINGLY
22. BUNCEJAIL
23. UNOISEGUN
24. IRISSOAPS

N.B. There is no conundrum for the letter "X" and for "Z" - for obvious reasons

I tried to restrict myself to 30 seconds for each so hence my rather dire performance, the only ones I did get were some well known countdown-type words/ conundrums.

YODELLING
KISSOGRAM
UNMARRIED
HAIRDRYER
VELODROME
QUARTERED
GEOMETRIC
ROTOVATED (I think this is actually ROTAVATED so   - didn't want to check in case that's considered cheating ;) )
BYSTANDER
OESTROGEN
MYOGLOBIN
JUBILANCE
PSORIASIS

I will probably have a longer look later.

Ooooh. I just got 'D', quite surprised too I didn't get this earlier.

04. INTICEADI - DIETICIAN

That now just leaves 13. SUEFORGED, which must begin with 'E'.

I can only add a few more and some I flat out guessed so they could be wrong.

LEITMOTIV (I assume this is a variant spelling, LEITMOTIF is more usual, I think)
DAVENPORT
ABIOGENIC (This is a guess!)
WINEMAKER
HETEROPYX (Another guess!)
KNOTGRASS (A half guess but I think this is a herb).

Those looked a bit tricky JaCu, I hope there aren't loads of science ones in there, I hate the science ones :x

8. SOFAURINE
12. HUGDELAMP
17. LOATHEBUB

24. IFORAPRON - RAINPROOF
If you cut a gandiseeg in half, do you get two gandiseegs or two halves of a gandiseeg?

See if you can come up with a set of conundrums that all but one conundrum have more than one answer each, different letters of the alphabet, and the remaining one has a single answer which needs to be solved first in order to solve the others through process of elimination :D.

Hypergoatnundrums are proper fun but proper hard to prepare. Ask Neb. As for the phantom S, well, I don't think that will cause too many problems. In fact, it will make it easier..

Ah, you're a wee fenian like myself! You have an Irish surname, are you like young Mr. Travers and have links over here in Ireland? Deicide are a thrash metal band that are endlessly banging on about satan, cacodemons and the like.

I'm not a fan of anything I don't understand :P But I'm Roman Catholic if that helps :D
Ah, you're a wee fenian like myself! You have an Irish surname, are you like young Mr. Travers and have links over here in Ireland? Deicide are a thrash metal band that are endlessly banging on about satan, cacodemons and the like.
Yes my grandad was Irish :) . No I'm not really into Deicide type music myself

Re: MEGA Conundrum alphabet

Post by JasonCullen »

Here is another one of my notorious conundrum alphabets except bigger and more challenging. My apologies if these conundrums have either; been repeated in this forum, shown on TV or are too obscure. This time there are a MEGA 52 conundrums to be solved (2 conundrums for each letter of the alphabet) and 2 of these conundrums is the plural version of an 8 letter word.

Enjoy and no cheats please :P

Also, please do not answer too many in one go because it spoils it for the other forumites who haven't seen this new alphabet as quickly as you ;)

A great attempt David. OBJURGATE is actually correct but your other two in the edit bit are incorrect :x Number 49 is also wrong. Thanks for having a go David and now let the rest of the Countdown clan do some thinking :P
