Boring poll which has not been done since Yahoo 1

Post by Derek Hazell »

Okay, the best presenter poll hasn't been done since the old Yahoo days, so let's get it done now Jeff has done over half a year. I am letting you vote for more than one option this time, for all the sheep who want to vote for Richard and Jeff as joint best.

I voted for Jeff on the basis that he's pretty good at the game himself. He's offered more solutions in the last few months than all the others put together. And no, I don't think he's getting more help from the backroom.

Aye, you'll have to be in the double bed now to make up for your rudeness.

I might let you have the spare room I suppose, but you'll have to be good at domestic chores and being bossed around...

I'm no angel, but I'm FANTASTIC at domestic chores as long as you mean cooking.... you know, a genius in the kitchen and all that. ;) (that's vaguely cryptic)

Ian's very brave to be the first person EVER to speak out against Richard Whiteley . . .
In some ways, Des O'Connor and Jeff Stelling are like two halves of RW - Des with the bumbling which so endeared some viewers, and Jeff with the awful puns.

I went for Whiteley, because he's the original and best, but I don't think Countdown has had a bad presenter. All 4 are good.

What? Including Des 'I've never heard of a punnet' O'Connor with his insistance on always saying the teatime teaser was 'all one word'

Including Des O'Connor. I liked his unassuming gentlemanly wit, as well as the way he spoke condescendingly to child contestants even if they were really good at Countdown. And what the hell is a punnet anyway?

If I were to give the presenters ratings, I'd go for something like:

Whiteley - 10/10
Lynam - 8/10
O'Connor - 8/10
Stelling - 9/10

Ah Richard, young fella me lad - we shall agree to differ. And I guess you've never experienced the charm that is Les Dynam (sic c/o my mother) in full 'come to bed eyes' mode!

Right I'm off to eat a carton/case/box/container/punnet of strawberries now.

Richard only filmed eleven shows with Lynam... not sure he ever gave him come-to-bed eyes though
