To be fair I'd feel a little guilty Countdowning when I should be getting on with planning or something. I only have 3 weeks to go then I leave the school anyway.

Open result, Matt Morrison 2 - 1 Henry Meier:

Matt 90 - 91 Henry
Matt 87 - 65 Henry
Matt 84 - 66 Henry

Unlucky Henry, were close games.

Sorry to post a PM on this thread but I haven't received a reply to one I sent to Adam Dexter on Sunday.

Adam, time is running out, so if you see this please can you let me know when you can play Supee Juachan. As things stand she can play you almost anytime tomorrow and up until about 2pm Saturday.

3 tight games with Kai, who was pretty unlucky (the only conundrum I beat him to was the only crucial one):

Thanks Ian - I didn't play very well, but neither did Matt, which led to some fun, close and frustrating games! Matt's 9 in the second game was the difference in the end. Overall I think he deserved to win though.

Two more in the open against Jay Murphy - equalled my best ever game, both in score and maxes, on the second:

Mark 90-80 Jay
Mark 113-93 Jay

I should add that, as you can see, the first conundrum Jay misspelled and the second one he hit the wrong letter, so he was exceptionally unlucky.

Not certain about posting the individual games but:

Benjamin Ziek defeated Gregor Morgan 2-1 in the U800.

In the U1200 between me and Ross Allatt

http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=82477 (Ross 62-51 Paul)
http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=82489 (Ross 69-100 Paul)
http://www.apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=82501 (Ross 63-74 Paul)

So I won that match 2-1, but some very tough close-fought games in there, as you I'm sure can see

One day left in week 1!

Because U1000 is just that good, I've got their xtable up here. There's one game left in U1200 and U800, and then they'll get their table.

The open people are apparently lollygaggers. One day left!

Feisty,

Myself and Jeff Burgin are tied at 1-1 in the Open. He had to go and we're not able to play until Sunday morning.
Is this okay?

I'll look to see what it does to the pairings tomorrow to be sure, but right now it looks like it would just switch your two pairings around, so I'll put "winner of" and "loser of" in the next round's matches.

After three very close and hard-fought games, I just came out on top of my duel with Simon Myers with a crucial conundrum in game 3:

Ross Allatt 2-1 Simon Myers

http://apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=82957 (Simon Myers 84-77 Ross Allatt)
http://apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=82966 (Simon Myers 76-102 Ross Allatt)
http://apterous.org/viewgame.php?game=82976 (Ross Allatt 92-77 Simon Myers)
I have nothing to declare except my Guinness.

The U1200 tables are up, posted here. Maybe a few surprises there. And just remember, the matches are supposed to get even closer as we go on! (You may need to see your physician for appropriate medication.)
