Best virgin

This is the award for the best player who has not yet appeared on the show. People who have filmed but not yet transmitted are not eligible (sorry chaps!) Actual virgins are eligible.

It's only based on performance, Ian, not generally being great all round.
Until Charlie decides to do a "most underwhelming player" poll, I won't be winning any awards.

I sat next to him in my audition and he absolutely smacked it, so I'm gonna guess yes.

Has to be Ben Pugh. He's been away from the scene for a bit but when he was on the scene he was quality. Come on Ben, pull your finger out and let's see you apply and be on Series 62!

I think Ollie Garner has filmed. That's why I missed him out, at least.

That's odd, cos when I met him last Monday he didn't even have dates...

I'm tipping Callum to become the youngest series champ. No pressure, buddy.

Right, apologies Oliver if that's the case. Nevertheless the general purpose of this thread is to encourage new talent, which is not really necessary if he's already auditioned.

Now I need to stop posting before I get "Most active topic: Best virgin".

I thought everyone who played Countdown was a virgin, at least according to Kate Richardson's mates.

Do you have a date for filming? (This probably belongs in that other thread)

I'm humbled to have been nominated, however I don't qualify in either sense of the word. I appeared in Series 57, losing to James Hurrell in his seventh show. Nevertheless, I am currently considering reapplying Kirk-style at some point; I've definitely improved since 2007.

Oh, and props to Ben Wilson and his Facebook status regarding Conor's 161 score. I only found out about apterous that way having been absent from the scene since CoBris '07. Given I joined just before my A Level exams, I'll be holding Ben responsible if I don't get into UCL.

What are you applying to do? (I did my Master's there and the other half is (still) doing medicine there, so I have some better excuse for asking other than wanting to come across as a bit of a stalker.)

Linguistics. I've got an unconditional place at King's for English Language & Communication if it doesn't come in.
