Wow, nice spot! I didn't see that. Yeah, would be interesting to see what would happen. I suppose it would be allowed since it is the correct answer.

Yes, they've said before that they would allow the alternative answer, although they might have to reshoot.

Congrats on being an Octochamp James, you had a tough opponent there, thought she was going to win at one stage.

So that's now six octochamps in the quarters - great stuff.

Think Jeff implied they are starting next week.

Phil - I got it by doing (50-2)x6x3 +7 - Is that what you meant?

Oops, yeah, thanks Allan. I had 48*18 + 7 in my head but, in my rush to type it in before forgetting it, 48 came out as 50-8, which is especially dumb since there wasn't an 8 in the selection.

I had OUTSOURCE as well and was shocked when it wasn't the right one! Checked the OED2r and found it was definitely in.

No. Well done James on becoming an octochamp. The quarter finals start next Thursday so there is not enough time left for another octochamp so this series will have to stick with 6 octochamps - not bad.

Ireland is a ridiculously proud nation. For instance, i've heard people bask in the fact that we drink more tea per head than the Chinese. It is with this in mind that i congratulate James on making the finals and becoming an octochamp. G'wan Oireland.

I agree, it is ridiculous for Ireland to be proud of anything.

His name's James. Unless that's some sort of Irish translation.

I've only just caught up with this episode- you nearly escaped Darren! But unfortunately for you I've now seen this thread, so consider yourself being given an evil glare. I'm sure you'll live...
I was pretty surprised Outsource was in. I got it, but then saw that the given conundrum was different and assumed it was not valid. But apparently it is. Duel answers. Go figure.

Oops, note to self: check spoilers thread for interesting trivia like this before doing the recap (now edited).
