I'm pretty sure Bob used to host Bullseye.
(Yes, I did start the thread just for that.)

AMORETTI in the tiptoer^ round. Not caught the first third of the show yet but two players scoring 56 points between them over 10 rounds is pretty abysmal. Recap will be up later

Hamish started off well but seemed to go off the boil as the game went on, shame.

and bully's special prize... a place in the champions chair.
Sad to see Hamish go. He could have won today had he declared QUESTS (which seemed fairly obvious, i think, if i have the right round from memory) in the round where he instead opted to say ' I didn't bother with it' (i laughed into my tea) and Bob failed on a risky 7.
One thing though. The final numbers. For me, Bob was fairly slow. He took a long time to say 410. He then went 'phwoarrrhh'... or something as he stared at the board... before slowly offering his solution. Given that that was the round that won it i'm even more gutted for Hamish and am not really rooting for Bob tomorrow. I appreciate that he might have felt he had it and i'd love to hear from him or anyone who was present for the filming of it, but as it came across on screen, i felt he solved it outside the time (given that Hamish declared 11 away and Bobs initial response, if i recall was... oooh... 410... though i might just be insanely biased to Hamish's wonderfully genuine appeal).
Anyway, a funny game today.

Re: Spoilers- Tuesday May 5th 2009
Bob's six-small strategy seemed an effective way of disorienting Hamish, who previously had established himself as not necessarily the best player of the numbers game. But yes, I too had the feeling that Bob was winging it as he slooooowly presented his solution, especially since he didn't say "not written down," which it clearly was not.
I was also mildly shocked that Hamish didn't get SOPRANOS, which could have made the difference.
