I've actually worked out why this solution works now. For ages, I've been unable to think of how he did this, but I think I might have it. Obviously, I'm not inside his head but I think this is now it works.Michael Wallace wrote:Well I imagine we've all done this in our own time, but it would take one of the more hard core people to tell you if anyone's put together something like that. I'm aware of 4 large theory (which you can work out for yourself fairly easily, it starts off with knowing all the numbers you can make with just the 4 large numbers, and then moving on to the general rules that allow you to do stuff like this).
Firstly, what I would do it (100 + 50) * 6 + 3 = 953
What I think he did was (100 + 6) * 3 = 318
75 / 25 = 3
3 * 318 = 954
Now you've only got the 50 left. But if you split the 75/25 into two separate calculations, you can use the 50 as a 2, in the same way as the 154, 203 and 302 rules (like [75*50+100]/25 = 154). So
(100 + 6) * 3 = 318
318 * 75 = 23850 (as pointed out on YouTube, using this method you don't actually need to know what this is)
23850 - 50 = 23800
23800 / 25 = 952
