Overview
The event will be carried out in the "Bristol" style. This comprises big screen graphics at the front of the room, with everyone playing along in pairs to the same letters selections. In each round, a different player will be chosen to make each selection of letters for everyone in the room. There will be 48 letters rounds played over the course of the heat games (6 per game); therefore, depending on the number of attendees present, everyone should get a turn at picking consonants and vowels at some point.

For the numbers games, you'll get to pick which combination of large and small numbers you want, in turn and in your pairs, from our specially designed five-line display.

For the conundrums, these will be revealed on the screen for everyone in much the same way as on the TV show. It will be explained at the start of the day how each part of the contest runs.

You will play eight preliminary games of Countdown in the 9-round format. There will be a random draw ahead of the first game to determine the fixtures. In the games that follow, Atropine's Swiss generator will pit you against similarly scoring contestants, so don't worry if you're completely wiped out in the opening match.

Once the eight preliminary rounds have concluded and the scores have been gathered, the two contenders with the most wins and points will compete in the 14-round grand final to determine the event champion.
