There is an 8 in round 12. Just curious, Jason, but did Dave C tell you to do his recap?

Re: series 58 recap
Hi David,
No, Dave C didn't tell me to do this. Because I am a new member I thought I would offer some of my best input from my very tender brain By the way, congratulations on being an octochamp and I look forward to seeing you on our TV screens in June. Out of curiousity, what was that 8 you have found?

Re: series 58 recap
I feared as much. The recap authors are already pretty much decided. I do Tuesdays and Dave C does Fridays. I suppose the thinking is that if you let people do it randomly then there is more chance that there will be days with no recap appearing. Occasionally, people can't do the recap for various reasons and they ask members of this forum to do it for them. Dave normally does his at night, that's why no recap has appeared yet. I didn't find the 8, I ran it through a solver which came up with BOERBOEL (wtf?).jasoncullen wrote:Hi David,

Re: series 58 recap
It's no biggie, how could you have possibly known? I have to admit that word is a new one me too. Do you have msn, Jason? If so, why not come along and watch Jon Corby trounce me in an online game this evening. My email is d_odonnell24@hotmail.com, feel free to add it. If anyone is interested in online games, (I know I type this almost every week), feel free to add a few emails.

Re: series 58 recap
BOERBOEL isn't in my ODE. Interesting.
Oh, in your Round 6 Jason, DEMEANOR and its anagram ENAMORED are American spellings and so are not valid.

It must be under an obscure entry. It's a dog, a type of mastiff.

Thanks a lot JC. There's a top reviewer in you yet.
A bit of the mechanics of it for future reference. I have Charlie Reams Countmax on my desktop with Jim B's amazing word list in it, Jim E-mails me the words it generates. That way we have a little checking mechanism going just in case I put down a wrong letter or something. It's highly likely all the letters will be used amongst at least some of the words. Also any numbers that nobody gets can be checked using...
http://www.crosswordtools.com/numbers-game/
if it's possible by some obscure way you'll get to it.
Anyone fancy bronchitis? I'm off back to bed again. (I'm doing an experiment exploring the number of hours of listening to the TV it takes to become irreversibly insane)

Okay okay I did it. For the record these things are a lot easier for me to sort out if the threads have sensible titles, particularly including the date.

Awesome. I don't know if its different to submit the recaps in here than it was in the mailing list.Charlie Reams wrote:Okay okay I did it. For the record these things are a lot easier for me to sort out if the threads have sensible titles, particularly including the date.
Also just to add, what is the situation with Tuesday recaps now, has David left for good or will he be back?
