C2: 996. Mistake in working.
RR: 995. ((75 − 9) × 3 + 1) × (7 − 2) (10)
Score: 17–0 (max 24)
Not the easiest of numbers games to kick off the days proceedings but our champion Helen does well to get 5 points out of it............but Ms Riley gets to shine and achieve a perfect 10
Teatime teaser: REOBTAIN -> BARITONE

Helen: BROOM (5)
Sophie: BROOM (5)
OT: UNIBROW (7)
Score: 22–5 (max 31)

Helen: CARRIED (7)
Sophie: CARRIED (7)
DC: ARTICLED (8)
OT: LACERTID (8)
Score: 29–12 (max 39)
Sevens all round from our Champion and Challenger.........but there were a couple of eights missed by our contestants............Articled was the DC spot.......Lacertid was the spot from our recap writer
Round 6: 75, 50, 4, 7, 8, 6. Target: 729.
C1: -
C2: 729. (7 + 6) × 50 + 75 + 4 (10)
Score: 29–22 (max 49)
Our champion Helen misses this numbers game...........A great solve by our challenger Sophie that puts her back in the contest and reduces the arrears to 7 points..........I found another way of solving this by using the 9 cubed method

75+6=81
8/4=2
7+2=9
81*9=729
Round 7: N T V E O I S R E
Helen: INVESTOR (8)
Sophie: VERSION (7)
DC: EVERSION (8)
OT: NERVIEST (8) OVERSITE (8) REINVEST (8) SEROTINE (8)
Score: 37–22 (max 57)
Our champion Helen hits back with her eight Investor that gives her a brief but narrow lead.........but there were a few eights to had...........no extra points if you spot most of those

Round 8: O A S M K I T N H
Helen: THANKS (6)
Sophie: STAIN (5)
DC: MONKISH (7)
OT: KHAMSIN (7) KOHANIM (7) THAMINS (7) THINKOS (7)

C2: 270. ((8 − 1) × 5 + 100) × 2 (7)
RR: 269. (100 − 8) × (2 + 1) − 5 − 2 (10)
Score: 43–29 (max 74)
Another fine spot from our challenger that puts her within 14 points of champion Helen.......still everything to play for .............but Ms Riley gets to show off and uses the omelette method to solve this bad boy

Teatime teaser: LEESFLAT -> LEAFLETS
Round 10: E S C O T L E R S
Helen: CLOSEST (7)
Sophie: selectors* misdeclared as an eight
DC: SELECTORS (18)
OT: CORSELETS (18)
Score: 50–29 (max 92)
Not the best round for Sophie misdeclaring her 9 as an 8.........had she declared it correctly this would of put her back in the contest and within striking distance of Helen..........but DC and our recap get to shine as it was their spot

Round 11: M S G A I A C Q O
Helen: MOSAIC (6)
Sophie: SCAM (4)
DC: MAGICS (6)
OT: AGAMIC (6) AMIGOS (6) ASIAGO (6) IMAGOS (6)

Round 12: N T E A E S T G A
Helen: STAGE (5)
Sophie: NEATEST (7)
DC: STAGNATE (8)
Score: 56–36 (max 106)

Helen: ALBEIST (7)
Sophie: PLAITS (6)
DC: SPOLIATE (8)
OT: EPIBLAST (8)
Score: 63–36 (max 114)
Another fine round from Ms McGivern with her 7 Albeist..........but over in DC they get to shine with their eight Spoliate............Epiblast was the second eight that was missed by all
Round 14: 9, 4, 1, 9, 10, 10. Target: 265.
C1: 269.
C2: 266. (9 + 9 − 1 + 10) × 10 − 4 (7)
RR: 265. (10 + 10 + 9) × 9 + 4 (10)
Score: 63–43 (max 124)
Another stinky numbers game but our challenger does well to get 1 away sadly it is not enough to save her...........but Ms Riley gets to shine and shows us how to achieve a perfect 10

Round 15: U R E S U D D E N
C2 buzzes on 11.5 seconds to say SURRENDERED which is incorrect.
C1 buzzes on 25 seconds to say UNDERUSED which is correct.
Final Score: 73–43 (max 134)
Not a bad game by all accounts but a scrappy one too..........it was enough for Helen to get the job done and bag her 5th win.........but take nothing away from Sophie she gave as good as she got unfortunately couldn't match Helen.......you can join me again to see if Helen can get her 6th win........in the meantime it is bye for now
