So after all the hype, we're only going to get 8 octochamps after all. There was talk of 10 for a while, but things slowed down in the latter stages of the series. Charlotte Robson won 7, Alex Robertson was surely octo potential but ran into Arthur "A5" Page, and finally Peter Young's inconsistency stopped him in the end. In total there will be 122 prelims I think. So to get 10 would mean having an octochamp on the go nearly 2/3 of the time. Mark Goodliffe actually started his run last series, so there were just 60 games featuring one of the 8 octochamps, slightly fewer than half the games.
