It was a bit confusing, I agree. The challenger said “starriest” but as he declared 8 instead of 9, and Susie said it needed two Rs, he likely spelled it with one R. Very unfortunate nonetheless.

I rewound and rewound but was still none the wiser until I put the subtitles on and they showed Stariest with the one R. Very unfortunate for the chap.
I thought I was good at Countdown until I joined this forum
