I only scrubbed thru the bits to see how he'd do in the entrance, breaks, and conundrum (for obvious reasons), and honestly, I think Richard might be the best backup for a host I've seen. Gentle approach and a kind heart really sold it to me.

Yes, I would agree with that, so relaxed and on top of it. Especially without the dog collar!

Nothing against Richard Coles, but his delivery is too snoozy. He seems nice but he’s quite Nick Hewer-ish. I think Trevor and Moira will be more alert.

Same here, and he's got a good sense of humour. He would put the contestants at ease.
