There was an administrative error in Round 7: Susie said that in the US, MODIST is spelt with the E at the end. This is not correct. MODISTE is valid and is the correct spelling in the UK and the US when referring to a fashionable milliner; MODIST is defined as ‘US = modiste’ in the dictionary, therefore I believe it should have been disallowed. The dictionary’s intention is difficult to discern though.

Other dictionaries define MODIST as a person who keeps up with the latest fashionable trends. ODO doesn’t unfortunately.
