The word 'disease' is dis - ease. Because you're not at ease when you have a disease.

Along similar lines, "painstaking" is "pains + taking", as in taking great efforts -- spent way too long thinking it involved wooden posts.

John Cleese was 35 when Fawlty Towers first came out. But he's still alive now at 81, so it goes to show that aging terribly in your earlier years isn't always a precursor to dying early.

Similarly, Murray Walker was always an old man and survived for decades that way.

Let's just say Jacket should be read as two words rather than two syllables.

I'm sure most cameras have the option to flip it. On my phone it looks mirror imaged while you're taking the picture but I have selected the option that flips it when it saves the picture. In fairness though I only realised that option exists after reading this thread and checking if my phone takes mirror imaged selfies. I don't think I've taken a selfie since doing my profile pic for here.

It's fine to have the option of it coming out mirror image, but by default it should be normal. Having the wrong default makes for a joke item.

I heard that they found you not guilty because you stole the judge's gavel and they needed it for a guilty verdict. Just rumours though.

There's the larger aperture near the bottom and the one I never used, the smaller aperture near the middle. Can use one or the other depending on the thickness of the material.

In the song "Roses" released by Outkast in 2003, the singer really is singing the lyrics "Roses really smell like poo" over and over. I always thought it sounded like they were saying poo, but just assumed it was one of those times you think a song sounds like it's saying something nonsense but you have just misheard what they say. Nope. Poo it is.

Watching Endeavor with my misses there was a Red Bus at the start and I wrongly assumed it was London.
Seems Oxford and at least Kent had them.

This is pretty much the opposite of really obvious but I did just find out that Grimace, the big purple yoke that hangs out with Ronald McDonald, is actually a taste bud.

I also found this fantastic quote about the fate of Grimace on the McDonald's wiki
Following an appearance at Dodger Stadium on July 18th, 2012 vs. the Philadephia Phillies, dancing to Ram Jam's 1977 classic, Black Betty, Grimace seemingly disappeared.
