I don't remember if he used the name, but certainly I became aware that such a thing existed, at the end of October 2010. This was because Jack Hurst went on a massive rant about Apterous and how cool it is... how you can play and hone your skills online, and that all the Series finalists from the last few years could be found playing there.

Sounded too good to be true. Still is.

(I had to Google VERY deeply to find it, mind you... so either he didn't mention the name, or I didn't catch it.)

re: names - forum posts are indexed by google. Many people would prefer that, if (for example) a future employer was googling them, nonsense posted on a forum did not show up as the top result.

Fine if you're called John Smith, but less so if you've got my name or Gev's, which are less common.

So if people do choose to use a forum alias, that should be respected and they should not be "outed" on the forum.
