2nd numbers - 1 away (933) by the standard method, but out of time (100-6)x(8+50/25)-8=932.

Poor Bob- was probably his worst showing, but seems to be a recurring theme for people to lose on their 8th game at the moment. Matthew definitely was the better player on the day, so we will see how he does.

I suspect that Bob could have been weakened by this being the fifth and last game of the recording session, too.
I'm not dead yet. In a rut right now because of stress from work. I'll be back later in S89. I also plan to bring back the Mastergram - if I can find a way to run a timer or clock through pure MediaWiki without having to upload to Vimeo every time.

I would agree. I suspect he will come fresh faced in the finals, and as it stands, I still find him a threat to do very well in the finals.Johnny Canuck wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 2:30 pm I suspect that Bob could have been weakened by this being the fifth and last game of the recording session, too.

I really feel bad for bob. But I think Matthew could go far. But I'm surprised that Rachel didn't suggest a possible rematch in the finals.

What is meant by the "standard method"? Is there a "standard" algorithm to solve the number problem?Tony Atkins wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 2:08 pm 2nd numbers - 1 away (933) by the standard method, but out of time (100-6)x(8+50/25)-8=932.

Devouts being allowed was a poor oversight on our part, but DC did declare OVULATED though?Ray Wilding wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 1:28 pm Looks like DC mistakenly allowed devouts while missing OVULATED/OVULATES in R5.

That was a mistake on my part, I missed that DC did get OVULATED.Countdown Team wrote: ↑Tue Aug 07, 2018 10:05 amDevouts being allowed was a poor oversight on our part, but DC did declare OVULATED though?Ray Wilding wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 1:28 pm Looks like DC mistakenly allowed devouts while missing OVULATED/OVULATES in R5.

BADIGEON in R8
2 seven-time winners in the same series already, lol. Matthew seems like he could win quite a few games.

Seriously? I always thought "standard method" was just a little joke.
And this method works in 60% of cases, so 40% of the time it leaves you at least 25 away from the target?

So what is it called when you just take a number or combination of numbers to make a multiplier, multiply a large number by that, and then adjust to the target using another number or combination of numbers? Basic method perhaps?
As opposed to adjusting the large number before multiplication, which is maybe a second degree basic method? Or have I gone mad?!

It started as Tony's 3-large thing, but it became generally used as a joke.David Williams wrote: ↑Fri Aug 10, 2018 11:39 pm Seriously? I always thought "standard method" was just a little joke.

But I think "working" means getting it spot on, not getting within 25!
