Messages in Outbox.
I have been exchanging PMs with another member of this site.My first four messages were successful, but the last three I have attempted have stuck in my outbox.I don,t think I have done anything different. Can anyone tell me what the cause of the problem is?

Messages sit in your outbox until the recipient has read them; you can edit/delete them while they're in this state and they'll never know (oh, unless you delete them and they've received an automated email to tell them they have a new message)jeff wharton wrote:I have been exchanging PMs with another member of this site.My first four messages were successful, but the last three I have attempted have stuck in my outbox.I don,t think I have done anything different. Can anyone tell me what the cause of the problem is?

"Forum: Hints & Tips" thread is in Countdown: General though. And this probably belongs in that thread, tbh.Charlie Reams wrote:This really doesn't belong in Countdown: General.

You should have the virtue we call patience.
And I mean that in a general sense.

Thanks for raising the issue, Jeff, and for answering it, Jon.Jon Corby wrote:Messages sit in your outbox until the recipient has read them; you can edit/delete them while they're in this state and they'll never know (oh, unless you delete them and they've received an automated email to tell them they have a new message)jeff wharton wrote:I have been exchanging PMs with another member of this site.My first four messages were successful, but the last three I have attempted have stuck in my outbox.I don,t think I have done anything different. Can anyone tell me what the cause of the problem is?
I wondered about that myself, and thought the system was being slow sending messages. Not that I've sent many, about half a dozen.

Don't worry about it, just thought I should note that I moved it since generally I don't like doing micro-management tasks.jeff wharton wrote:Sorry Charlie.wasn,t sure where to post it.Charlie Reams wrote:This really doesn't belong in Countdown: General.
