James could have got 814 from that and he'd be 7 points up right now.

If he had declared 814, it would have been a 14 point swing, would have won by 8. It was tense in the studio watching it!

Cheers Ray & Samir!
Quite right, if all the other rounds had gone the same. So it was quite fortunate for me! Maybe it made up for the awkwardness of some of the letters rounds.

Excellent game, well done both players. The letters throughout lacked apterousy nonsense-maxes, which levelled the playing field and made for a tight battle. Bradley did really well to come through that with a quick conundrum solve.Bradley Horrocks wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2017 8:17 pm Cheers Ray & Samir!

I don't wish to rain on Bradley's parade as he has been very enjoyable to watch and I was rooting for him, but PIENETA was incorrectly spelled. It should be PEINETA (from PEINE - Spanish for comb). It may, however, just be that Rachel put it up on the board incorrectly.

Thanks Karen, that was it, it was just misspelled on the board. That mistake wasn't made when I declared it in my 8th game, but on that occasion I was asked to spell it out.Karen Pearson wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2017 4:07 pm I don't wish to rain on Bradley's parade as he has been very enjoyable to watch and I was rooting for him, but PIENETA was incorrectly spelled. Phew! I'm so glad about that!
Surprised the production team didn't pick up on it. They're usually pretty good.
Looking forward to seeing your semi-final!

Was rooting for you Bradley but thought James shouldn't be underestimated. I've learnt to not understand the number 7 seed!
