SERIES 72 - THE FINAL FRONTIER

Hello everybody and welcome to another Friday recap. :) Except this isn't just another Friday recap, this is the Grand Final, and what a final we have in prospect today. It is a great privilege to be able to recap a final between two players who are both very well known in the Countdown Community. Tom Cappleman and Tracey Mills have overcome strong opposition to get here. After 93 preliminaries, 4 bruising Quarter Finals and 2 nail biting Semi Finals, we have reached the Grand Final.
I was fortunate enough to be able to watch this from the audience in the studio. I hope you enjoy reading this recap as much as I enjoyed watching the game. :D

Final Score: 107–89 (max 126)

So Tom Cappleman becomes the series 72 champion, but he didn't have it all his own way. Tracey Mills gave him a real fight in the final, and took the lead in round 2, so was always going to be a force to be reckoned with. In the end though, Tom came through as he gradually got the better of Tracey, but I would think he would be very relieved to have won in the end. Tom gets a top of the range Tablet and the Richard Whiteley Memorial Trophy, but Tracey goes home far from empty handed, as she also got a Tablet.
So series 72 comes to a close, but immediately in its wake on Monday is series 73. Join Andy McGurn for the first game, and also the second game the following Monday. Yes you've guessed it, horseracing takes over for 4 days next week as we head to Royal Ascot. Needless to say my Friday slot is among those affected  meaning my next recap will be 2 weeks today on 26th June. I hope you will join me then. In the meantime thank you very much for reading, and goodbye. :)
